The Gift of the Land: Citrus Grown by Sun and Sea

Ehime is one of Japan’s leading citrus-growing regions, and the hillside orchards of Ikata Town overlooking the Uwa Sea benefit from abundant sunshine, gentle sea breezes, and steep terrain. At Tagen Farm, learn how the local climate and landscape influence the flavor of different citrus varieties, then pick ripe fruit with your own hands. Take home the taste of Ehime’s sun-drenched countryside as a delicious souvenir.

Giving Marine Debris a Second Life

The beautiful coastline of the Sada Cape Peninsula is also affected by the growing issue of marine debris. At the Peninsula Museum, learn about local marine environmental challenges and put sustainability into practice through a hands-on craft workshop. With guidance from an instructor, select pieces of weathered marine debris and transform them into a unique eco-friendly ornament. More than a souvenir, it is a small reminder of the connection between our everyday lives and the health of the ocean.
