As the sun just rose above the ridge of the Tokachi mountain range, the pastoral scenery of the Furano Basin was still shrouded in a thin morning mist.
This is the perfect moment to take off in a hot air balloon. The breathtaking roar of the Panamanian bird’s flames echoes across the tranquil earth, and the next second the balloon slowly lifts off the ground, rising 20 meters into the air in one breath.
What unfolds before you is a panoramic view of Furano that can only be seen from this height: lavender fields, wheat fields, sunflowers, and the majestic Tokachi mountain range in the distance.
This is an experience that has moved more than 200,000 people since its opening, and every ascent is a brand new experience.

Unlike free-flying hot air balloons, this experience uses a 4-point rope tethering design, ensuring a safe and secure ride to the ground throughout the entire journey, so even travelers who are slightly uncomfortable with heights can ride with peace of mind.
Professional staff will accompany you throughout the journey, providing commentary on the surrounding scenery from the air and assisting with photo taking when weather conditions are good. There are two departures, one in the morning and one in the evening, choosing to depart at dawn to make Hokkaido’s freshest air the most unforgettable start to your trip.

Free shuttle service is provided from New Furano Prince Hotel (06:05), North Country (06:10), and Edelweiss (06:15) to the Balloon Plaza.
Check-in at the balloon plaza next to the Kita-no-mine Ropeway Station at Furano Ski Resort
After completing the check-in procedures, wait in the order of arrival for the day and enjoy the spectacular process of the balloons being inflated.
Tethered hot air balloon flight (approximately 5 to 10 minutes)
Ascend slowly in a hot air balloon to a height of 20 meters, overlooking the pastoral scenery of the Furano Basin and the spectacular Tokachi Mountain Range. Staff members provide explanations and assist with photography to capture this moving experience from the air.
※After the experience, the event will conclude on-site or you can enjoy free pick-up and drop-off back to the hotel.

Eligibility
- Children aged 3 and above can participate. Children under 3 years old must be accompanied by an adult aged 20 or above. One child rides for free.
- Minors must be accompanied by a guardian.
Clothing suggestions
- The temperature is cooler in the morning and evening, so please wear warm clothing.
- Please avoid excessive skin exposure (grasslands are lush and have many mosquitoes).
- Please wear clothing that allows for easy movement (you will need to step over the basket at approximately waist height when riding).
Weather forecast
- The trip will be suspended or halted en route in case of severe weather or wind speeds exceeding 3m, with safety as the top priority.
- Please call 30 minutes before the scheduled execution time to confirm whether an expedited call has been made.
- Boarding is on a first-come, first-served basis on the day of travel; specific times cannot be specified, and waiting may be required during peak hours.
Insurance
- Passenger insurance is in place: 10 million yen for death, 5,000 yen per day for hospitalization, and 3,000 yen per day for commuting to the hospital.

- Once a reservation is made, a 5% system cancellation fee will be charged if the reservation is cancelled due to personal reasons.
