Sounkyo Autumn Foliage Day Trip | Kurodake Ropeway, Daisetsuzan & Twin Waterfalls

Ride the Kurodake Ropeway up to around 1,300 meters and take in sweeping views of dramatic columnar rock formations covered in vibrant red and gold autumn colors. The seasonal scenery changes across the mountainside, creating a striking contrast of cliffs and foliage.

Departure and Harvest Orchard
Pick-up and Drop-off at Sapporo Station or Central Hotels
Your driver will meet you at your designated pick-up point in Sapporo city. After a smooth departure, travel north via Sunagawa Service Area toward Fukagawa, known as one of northern Japan’s key agricultural regions.
Fukagawa Orchard Fruit Picking Experience
Step into a local orchard in Fukagawa and pick fresh seasonal fruits by hand. Choose from apples and grapes, and enjoy them freshly picked at their peak ripeness.
This is a family-friendly experience, especially suitable for travelers with children, offering a relaxed moment in the orchard surrounded by Hokkaido’s rural scenery.
Panoramic View of Sounkyo Gorge
Sounkyo Gorge & Kurodake Ropeway | Ginga & Ryusei Twin Waterfalls
After a local lunch, take the Kurodake Ropeway up to around 1,300 meters and enjoy sweeping views over Sounkyo Gorge and its surrounding mountain landscapes.
Continue to Ginga Falls and Ryusei Falls, two of the area’s most famous waterfalls. In autumn, the cliffs and waterfalls are framed by seasonal foliage, creating a dramatic natural scenery that is ideal for photography.
Return and End of Tour
Return to Sapporo City Hotel
Relax in a comfortable private vehicle as you travel back to Sapporo. Reflect on the day’s experiences and sort through your photos during the return journey.
You will arrive at your hotel in Sapporo city around 6:30 PM. Alternatively, you may choose to be dropped off at Sounkyo Onsen Hotel, where your journey can end in a hot spring atmosphere.

This tour is based on a private charter vehicle service (9 hours) using a standard Alpha vehicle.
The standard vehicle comfortably accommodates up to 6 passengers and up to 4 pieces of luggage.
The tour price includes private transportation, fuel, and driver service. Admission fees, meals, and personal expenses are not included.
Please note that the “Number of Participants” field refers to the number of vehicles required. If you require one vehicle, please select “1.”
Vehicle Upgrade Option: Toyota Hiace
For groups of more than 6 passengers or those traveling with more than 4 pieces of luggage, we highly recommend upgrading to a Toyota Hiace.
The Toyota Hiace can accommodate up to 9 passengers.
Upgrade Fee: ¥12,000 per vehicle (please select this option during the booking process).
Attraction Operating Hours
Kurodake Ropeway and Fukagawa Orchard may have seasonal closures, irregular operating hours, or temporary schedule changes. We strongly recommend checking official operating information before booking.
Autumn foliage is a natural phenomenon, and the timing and intensity vary each year depending on weather conditions. Viewing conditions cannot be guaranteed.
Flexible Itinerary
The time spent at each attraction can be adjusted in consultation with your driver on the day of the tour.
However, the total tour duration must remain within the scheduled 9-hour charter period.
Cancellation Policy
A 5% system processing fee applies to all cancellations made for personal reasons.
- Cancellations made 7–4 days before the tour date: 30% cancellation fee
- Cancellations made 3–1 days before the tour date: 50% cancellation fee
- Cancellations made on the day of the tour or no-shows: 100% cancellation fee
