Ride the Asahidake Ropeway from lush subalpine forests to the dramatic alpine zone in just a few minutes, experiencing one of Hokkaido’s most spectacular changes in scenery.
As you ascend from around 1,100 meters to 1,600 meters, forests gradually give way to rugged volcanic terrain, alpine meadows, and seasonal wildflowers. Journey into Daisetsuzan National Park
Departure from Asahikawa
Meet your guide at Asahikawa Station and travel by private vehicle to Daisetsuzan National Park.
Along the way, enjoy scenic views of the Kamikawa Plain, where expansive rice fields and rural landscapes showcase another side of Hokkaido before arriving at the foot of Asahidake.
Asahidake Ropeway & Guided Nature Walk
Ride the Asahidake Ropeway into the alpine zone, where your expert guide will lead you on a scenic 2-hour nature walk through Daisetsuzan National Park.
Discover dramatic volcanic landscapes, alpine wildflowers, and unique high-altitude ecosystems while learning about the park’s geology, wildlife, and seasonal changes.
Lunch Break (at Your Own Expense)
Enjoy free time for lunch at the restaurant near the Asahidake Ropeway Station.
Choose from a selection of local dishes featuring fresh Hokkaido ingredients while taking in the beautiful mountain scenery.
Alpine Wetlands & Asahidake Visitor Center
Take a leisurely walk along the boardwalks of the alpine wetlands and discover the unique plants and landscapes that thrive in this high-altitude environment.

Roadside Station Visit & Tour Ends
Before returning to Asahikawa, stop at a local roadside station (Michi-no-Eki) to browse regional specialties and souvenirs, such as locally produced essential oils, handcrafted goods, and seasonal products.
Afterward, return to Asahikawa Station, where your tour concludes.

- This tour includes approximately 2 hours of hiking. Participants should be in good physical condition.
- Please wear appropriate hiking boots and weather-appropriate outdoor clothing.
- If the Asahidake Ropeway is not operating due to weather or maintenance, an alternative guided hiking route will be provided.
Cancellation Policy
- 30% cancellation fee for cancellations made 7 days before the experience.
- 50% cancellation fee for cancellations made 3 days before the experience.
- 100% cancellation fee for cancellations made 1 day before or on the day of the experience, or in the case of no-shows.
