Get Ready for Your Winter Canoe Adventure
Check In & Get Equipped
Meet at the OCEAN DAYS store in Lake Shikotsu Onsen Town. Staff will assist you in changing into your dry suit and other winter gear before the activity begins.
Learn the Basics of Canoeing
Walk to the lakeside with your guide and learn the basics of paddling, along with important safety precautions. Your guide will also introduce you to the unique winter environment and scenery of Lake Shikotsu.
Paddle Across the Crystal-Clear Lake
Launch Your Canoe & Explore Lake Shikotsu
Launch your canoe and paddle away from the lakeshore into the tranquil waters of Lake Shikotsu. Follow your guide toward some of the lake’s clearest areas and take in the breathtaking scenery of snow-covered forests, mountain reflections, and crystal-clear blue water.
Slow Down & Capture the Moment
Pause in the calm waters of the lake and take in the peaceful winter landscape around you. Your guide will also help capture memorable photographs of you surrounded by the pristine scenery of Lake Shikotsu.
Return & Warm Up in Lake Shikotsu Onsen
Return to Shore & Change Back
Paddle back to shore and return to the OCEAN DAYS store in the hot spring town. Change out of your gear and return the equipment before concluding the activity.
Explore Lake Shikotsu Onsen Town
After your canoe adventure, take some time to explore Lake Shikotsu Onsen Town. Enjoy local sweets and cafés, or warm up with a relaxing soak or footbath before continuing your Hokkaido journey.

- Please bring your own warm clothing, such as moisture-wicking or thermal underwear, to wear underneath the dry suit.
- The actual departure date is subject to wind and water conditions.
- If the activity is cancelled due to severe weather, a full refund will be provided.
- The tour is primarily conducted in Japanese, with basic explanations available in English.

- 7–4 days before departure: 30% of the tour price
- 3–2 days before departure: 50% of the tour price
- The day before and on the day of departure: 100% of the tour price
