Hokkaido Selections | Kelp Sake Glass

A unique sake glass, handcrafted with patented techniques by a century-old Hokkaido kelp shop, infuses the natural aroma of Hidaka kelp into every sip of sake.

The “Konbugui Tsumimi,” a natural sake cup made from processed kelp from Hidaka, Hokkaido, is a patented product handcrafted by Nakai Eisaku Shoten, a century-old shop founded in 1927. (Japanese Patent No.: 1364451)

The glass exudes the natural sheen and aroma of kelp, enhancing the mellow and lingering flavor of sake or shochu. The surface gloss comes from a natural agar coating, and each glass is handmade with slight variations in shape.

📍 About Hidaka Kelp: Hidaka kelp, also known as Mishikoshi kelp, is distributed in southern Hokkaido. It has a chewy texture and a rich aroma. Rich in minerals such as iron, zinc, and magnesium, it is an indispensable natural ingredient in traditional Japanese cuisine.
