Momohata Fish Farm makes use of Otsuchi’s abundant spring water to raise freshwater salmon. At the pond, your instructor will use easy-to-follow illustrations to explain the salmon life cycle and introduce the fascinating terminology surrounding salmon in Japanese. Meet at Momohata Fish Farm and receive a briefing on appropriate clothing and safety. Then head to the “Salmon Classroom” to learn about salmon biology and how the freshwater environment influences the quality and flavor of the fish.

Freshly Grilled Salmon

  • This experience focuses on cooked food. Raw fish will not be served.
  • Fish preparation involves the use of sharp knives. Children must be accompanied and assisted by a parent or guardian.
  • Please follow the staff’s instructions carefully when handling knives and fish.
  • In the event of severe weather, such as thunderstorms, outdoor activities may be moved indoors or cancelled.
  • The tour is conducted primarily in Japanese, with basic English explanations available.

  • A 5% system cancellation fee will be charged for cancellations made for personal reasons after booking.
  • 7–4 days before departure: 30%
  • 3–2 days before departure: 50%
