Echigo-hime is a strawberry variety developed specifically for Niigata’s cool climate. Known for its exceptionally soft, juicy flesh and delicate sweetness, the berries can reach 13° Brix or higher when fully ripe. Because their delicate texture makes them difficult to transport over long distances, Echigo-hime is best enjoyed fresh at the farm in the region where it is grown.

Hanamizu Farm also cultivates the rare “Fragrance Peach,” a variety prized for its distinctive floral and peach-like aroma. Known for its rich fragrance and intense sweetness, this unusual strawberry offers a completely different tasting experience from conventional varieties. Farm Visit & Strawberry Experience
Arrival and Check-in
Arrive at Hanamizu Farm and check in at the reception area. Collect your picking container and receive a brief introduction before stepping into the warm strawberry greenhouse.
Meet Echigo-hime & Fragrance Peach
Learn about the characteristics of Echigo-hime from the farm staff and discover how to identify berries at their sweetest and ripest. You’ll also be introduced to the rare Fragrance Peach variety and learn about the differences in aroma, flavor, and texture between the two.
30 Minutes of Strawberry Bliss
Pick & Eat to Your Heart’s Content
Your 30-minute all-you-can-eat experience begins! Wander between the strawberry plants, choose the berries that look perfectly ripe, and enjoy them freshly picked straight from the plant. Take your time comparing different berries and savor the sweet, fragrant flavor at its freshest.
Take Some Home
When the tasting experience comes to an end, return to the shop area and browse the farm’s fresh strawberries and local products. Pick up some strawberries to take home and continue your journey through snow country with a sweet souvenir.

– This experience is available only to guests traveling by their own car.
– Please wear comfortable, flat shoes suitable for walking inside the greenhouse.
– The greenhouse can be warm, even in winter. We recommend wearing layers that can be easily removed.
– Please handle the plants and fruit carefully and only pick strawberries intended for consumption.
– The tour is conducted primarily in Japanese, with basic English assistance available.

– A 5% system cancellation fee will be charged for cancellations made for personal reasons after booking.
