Itinerary Details
Tie the red thread of fate: the knot and "Your Name."
“Gathering together, taking shape, twisting, and entwining—this is time, this is ‘knot’.” In the film, the knot is not only an ornament but also a connection across time and space between the divine and the human, and between humans themselves. When you come to Mount Hida, you will become the protagonist, and in the tranquil space, through the interlacing of your fingertips, weave your expectations for the journey into the thread, completing a real pilgrimage to the sacred site.
Touching the pulse of craftsmanship: Marudai and Sashiko thread
This experience perfectly blends two Japanese crafts. The “marudai” supporting the weaving is handcrafted by Hida artisans, with a warm and smooth texture like jade; while the weaving thread is specially selected from the multi-strand cotton thread used in the traditional embroidery technique “sashiko”. Compared to ordinary silk thread, it is more fluffy and full of handmade warmth, making the finished product a beautiful and substantial travel accessory.

Craftsmanship Guide and Color Scheme Selection
Experience Check-in and Craftsmanship Introduction
Upon arrival at the Experience Center in Takayama, Hida, check in. An instructor will guide you through learning about the woodworking techniques of Hida craftsmen, including the kumibozu (kumibozu knot), and briefly explain its important role in local culture.
19 Colored Thorn Thread Selection
Choose from up to 19 colors of cable to create your perfect look. Select from classic red and orange tones or everyday earthy shades to match your personal style and define your desired cable combination.
Marutai weaving and finished product assignment
Six-strand assembly manual practice
Under the careful guidance of my instructor, I learned the pattern of six interlaced strands. Watching the wire gradually take shape on the sprue with the crisp sound of the wood colliding, I experienced a moment of tranquility focused on my fingertips.
Wearing button-up clothes, strolling through the ancient streets
Once the bracelet is finished, you can take it home on the spot. We recommend wearing the finished product immediately. Stepping out of the exchange center, you’ll find yourself in the elegant old street of Takayama. Let this “tie of fate” accompany you on every journey to come.
