This experience brings together two distinctive Japanese crafts. The marudai weaving stand is carefully handcrafted by skilled artisans in Hida, reflecting the region’s long tradition of woodworking. For the weaving, you’ll use specially selected sashiko cotton threads, known for their soft texture and durability. The combination creates a bracelet that is both beautiful and substantial—a unique handmade souvenir that carries the spirit of Japanese craftsmanship.

Upon arrival at the experience center in Hida Takayama, you’ll check in and meet your instructor. Begin with an introduction to the region’s woodworking traditions and the cultural significance of kumihimo, the traditional Japanese braiding craft you’ll experience during the workshop.

Choose from 19 vibrant thread colors to create a bracelet that reflects your personal style. Whether you prefer the traditional red and orange tones featured in Your Name. or more subtle, everyday shades, you can customize your own unique color combination before you begin weaving.
Kumihimo Weaving and Bracelet Making
Learn the Six-Strand Kumihimo Weaving Technique
With guidance from your instructor, you’ll learn the traditional six-strand kumihimo weaving technique. As the colorful threads gradually come together to form a braided pattern on the handcrafted marudai weaving stand, you’ll enjoy a calming, hands-on experience that invites you to focus on each movement and appreciate the beauty of Japanese craftsmanship.

Important Notes
• Please arrive at least 10 minutes before the scheduled start time. Late arrivals may not be able to participate or may have a shortened experience.
• There is no dedicated parking available at the venue. Guests arriving by car are advised to use nearby paid parking facilities.
• As each bracelet is handmade, the final color arrangement and appearance may vary slightly from the sample images shown.
Cancellation Policy
• Cancellations made 8 days or more before the experience: No cancellation fee
• Cancellations made 7–4 days before the experience: 30% of the total booking amount
• Cancellations made 3–2 days before the experience: 50% of the total booking amount
• Cancellations made on the day before or the day of the experience, or no-shows: 100% of the total booking amount
• A 5% system processing fee applies to all cancellations made for personal reasons.
