Itinerary Details
A green carpet where time stands still: Shiratani Unsuikyo Taiko Rock Route
This is Yakushima’s most famous forest hiking trail. Led by a professional guide, you will traverse the “Tundra Forest,” where ferns and tundra intertwine, each step feeling like stepping into an anime scene. The final stop is Taiko-iwa at an altitude of 1050 meters. Standing atop the massive granite, you can enjoy panoramic views of the island’s tender pink buds and deep green forests, feeling the purest energy from this World Heritage Site.
Strolling on the Emerald Waters: Anbo River SUP Experience
Far from the waves of the open sea, the Awa River is as calm as a mirror. Walking through the shade of the trees, where light and shadow shimmer on the water, you’ll stand on a stand-up paddleboard under the guidance of an instructor. With the rhythm of the paddles, you’ll glide slowly across the river, listening to the birdsong and the sound of the water. This tranquility, where you forget the passage of time, is Yakushima’s gentlest gift to travelers: a “slow time.”
